History
The history of WALTER GmbH begins in the mid-1970s in Karlsruhe-Daxlanden with a business for metalwork, welding and industrial air technology. Today Sonja Zeitler and Alexander Zeitler run the family business in the next generation.

Mid-1970s
Beginnings
Oswin Walter builds up the business for metalwork, welding and industrial air technology and has the company registered as Walter-Lufttechnik Gesellschaft mit beschränkter Haftung. At that time the workshop and offices at Hansastraße 23 in Karlsruhe-Daxlanden are rented.

1982
Acquisition by Kraftanlagen Heidelberg
Oswin Walter sells the thriving company to Kraftanlagen Heidelberg GmbH. Under this umbrella the Karlsruhe site specializes even further in industrial large-scale plant construction and complex ventilation and extraction systems.

1995
Management buy-out and fresh start as WALTER GmbH
In the course of strategic changes within the Kraftanlagen group, the previous plant management led by Manfred Haas takes over the company. On 4 April 1995 it is re-established as the independent WALTER GmbH.

2000
New building and securing the site
The company leaves the rented premises in Daxlanden. In 2000 it builds an entirely new facility in the Rheinhafen industrial area and moves into its own company building at Im Schlehert 12, 76187 Karlsruhe.

2014
Rise to management
Sonja Zeitler, who has worked for the company since 1991 in the former business, is officially entered in the commercial register as managing partner.

2020
Sole management
Sonja Zeitler takes over sole management of WALTER GmbH after Manfred Haas has to leave the company due to illness.

2024
Expanding the management
Alexander Zeitler, a long-standing employee, is officially entered in the commercial register as an additional managing partner. Together they run the family business in the next generation.
